Wishing you all a wonderful "turkey" day! And while I'm a birder, I still do love a delicious turkey. But I also enjoy seeing them in the wild as well;)
Turkeys were wiped out years ago due to over hunting practices. Today these birds are enjoying a big comeback around the US. They can be found again in many parts of our country because they are once again protected.
And hope you all have a wonderful beginning to your holiday season with family and friends! Happy Thanksgiving wherever you may be!

I'd rather look at them than eat them.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
You have a good Thanksgiving Chris. Not too good for the Turkey though.
ReplyDeleteThey are neat to see in the wild. Wishing you and your family a Happy Thanksgiving!

I like the pictures of turkeys. They look like they are the country cousins of the more elegant but supercilious peacocks.
ReplyDeleteThey really are beautiful birds, aren't they. But I'm still glad the Eagle was chosen. :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great day today, Chris, with friends and family.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful Thanksgiving Chris!!
ReplyDeleteHappy turkey day
ReplyDeletethey are beautiful. and tasty! :) enjoy your holiday!
ReplyDeleteGreat turkey photos! I hope you have a great holiday!!
ReplyDeleteThese wild turkeys are magnificent birds. Humans are the most voracious and greedy creatures in eradicating, decimating or soiling what is beautiful in nature.
ReplyDeleteLovely to see Turkeys in the wild. Hope you enjoy your Thanksgiving Holiday :)
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed your turkey pictures. The heron you asked me about on my recent post was a Grey Heron. From Findlay
ReplyDeletePatrząc na śliczne indyki żywe, chyba nie chciałabym ich jeść. Miłego Święta. Pozdrawiam.
ReplyDeleteLooking at the beautiful turkeys live, I do not think I would eat them. Have a nice Christmas. Yours.
Too late to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving but I wish you a nice aftermath... and a nice season, new finds in birding. By the way have you already visited this website?? I met Robert years ago and he is a fabulous birds photographer, I just checked his website which grew and grew... Here is the link:

Happy Thanksgiving to you as well. I love flushing out a flock of wild turkeys when I am in the woods. They are so much more regal than the domestic version.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing wild turkeys. If it helps at all, the ones eaten the most are not this majestic. Ha!
