Today it's all about the long legged birds showing off at the Riparian Preserve at Gilbert Water Ranch.

Great Blue Heron in flight |
Here are some shots from just of few of my favorite birds in flight. Or reflecting:)
|
Snowy Egret |
If you're looking to refine your skills on capturing herons or egrets in flight, this is the place to do it.
They were everywhere. I also got a chance to watch Great Blue Herons in a mating dance. Very cool.
I'll part now and leave you with these incredible birds. Until tomorrow.....

Pozdrawiam.
ReplyDeleteWonderful pictures. The fourth from the bottom heron looks as if she went skating on the ice. Yours.
And those feathers and extra-long beaks are awesome also. Fabulous collection of birds, Chris.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful captures of the long legged birds. I especially love the snowy egret landing next to the great one.
ReplyDeleteThese are great photos, Chris! I'll bet that was fun getting those shots.
ReplyDeleteThose egret photos make themselves into instant paintings, such a majestic bird :)
ReplyDeleteI am so envious of these images Chris, I've taken heaps of bird shots but have never been quick enough to catch one in flight. These shots are fantastic. I will have to have patience and try a bit harder!! Bon weekend.
ReplyDeletegorgeous, gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteSome nice shots of the Long leggers Chris :-) especially like the flight shots :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat captures! The snowy looks a little out of control coming in for the landing... ;-)
ReplyDeleteOnce again, these are fantastic shots.

Chris, wonderful captures of the Egrets and Herons!
ReplyDeleteChris... I love these. They are all exceptional. The egret looks like he is doing a happy dance. I like the effect on the next one, very suttle and soft.
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful photos. Cute title. Long legged birds look comical one minute and majestic the next.
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos especially like the ones of the Egrets - such beautiful birds :)
ReplyDeleteyour photos are morphing from just good, to amazing. Blue heron is hard to believe.
ReplyDeleteWow you shoot them at the best positions, knowing you sometimes i see some positions as funny! We have some few bird sounds in our trees now, but i can't see them. I wonder why there are newcomers, even further wonder if they are migrants that linger away from the group!
ReplyDeleteWonderful shots, Chris!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad I was able to go birding here with you! By the end of the day we were exhausted but we were smiling!
