Swirls and Twirls

In a moment of camera discovery, I had found a new function. These pics were taken in 2005 in the tiny state of Tlaxcala, Mexico.  I'm with my Mexican family celebrating Mexican Independence.
A priest, by the name of Miguel Hidalgo, leads the Mexican people to war and they free themselves over 200 years ago from the Spanish.
On this day, with a grito(shout) at midnight, Mexicans from all over scream, "VIVA MEXICO" and take back their lands from Spain.
And so people from all over, including several of my nieces celebrate in the center square with fireworks and other fun things.
To all my Mexican friends, Happy Mexican Independence Day!
