Female Anna's Hummingbird |
If life imitates art, then perhaps this is a perfect example.
I was chatting with Kathie and waiting for her to get her tea all prepped for our trip. And while she was getting everything all together, I saw her hummingbird feeder busy with activity.
It was surprising because I can never get the hummers to come to these glamorous feeders. They tend to like the cheap ones, but the key here was that this was in the shade. And that made all the difference in the world.
Get ready for some incredible fun coming up on Las Aventuras. Let's have a kiki! December is just warming up. Let the festivities begin.....
Lovely, lovely...
ReplyDeleteThis blue glass feeder with red flower is pretty with the light filtering through and hummer in silhouette.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful bird feeder there Chris. Never get tired of your hummingbird pics :) Video cheered up what is yet another rainy morning over here!
ReplyDeleteI love that feeder, very artful. Interesting too the way the Hummer knows how to approach the feeding challenge.
ReplyDeleteVery nice pictures Chris.....well done again.
ReplyDeleteGreetings, Joop
Lovely photos!! Reminiscent of a blue perfume bottle I used to have with a bird stopper!!
ReplyDeleteThe Kiki video clips have put me in a great mood, and in the mood for a party! Thanks!!
Thanks for the secret of how to get a hummingbird to come to a fancy feeder. But wait! I think I might have only the cheap kind. :)) Only kidding. I do have a fancy one that the hummers tend to ignore.
ReplyDeleteIt is a pretty feeder! I only have the cheapy hummingbird feeders. You and Kathie are lucky to see hummers in the winter. I am envious! Great captures, Chris!
ReplyDeleteIt payed off to sit and wait in a big way.. incredible captures of the little Anna's, Chris.
ReplyDeletei haven't had much luck with pretty glass and artful feeders, either. the dollar general plastics get a ton of use. :)
ReplyDeleteHummingbirds are one of my favorites
ReplyDeleteSweet photos. Watching videos is practically impossible with satellite Internet (something to do with the delay from space to Earth is just enough to cause headaches) so I guess I'm in the dark about Kikis!
ReplyDeleteI love hummingbirds. Great shots Chris!
ReplyDeleteI'm giving up on my feeders...just too much competition from the bees. I hate that, but I'm just going to put more flowers out. Love Kathie's pretty feeder!
ReplyDeleteExquisite shots Chris :-)
ReplyDeleteI Love that feeder!
ReplyDeleteWow, I usually walk by these gorgeous glass feeders because they are expensive and fragile but, wow, do they make for a to-die-for photo! I can imagine any of these photos blown up to poster size, the colour would fill the room. Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteLovely shots by the pretty feeder. I like number 4. Pretty little hummingbird pretending to be a bat.
ReplyDeleteUwielbiam te malutkie ptaszki i ślicznie razem z podajnikiem na zdjęciach wyglądają. Pozdrawiam.
ReplyDeleteI love these little birds and lovely together with feeding the pictures look like. Yours.
