The Lunar Eclipse

This is the lunar eclipse taken by Nasa.  This is what I saw last night, but my pics are not as clear as this photo.  Taking space shots are difficult especially with all the ambient light around the town.  I was up for quite awhile snapping several hundred shots.  It was an absolutely beautiful sight last night.  Here is what I got.....close but not quite as clear.....

My attempts at the night sky....
I love space!

Our clear-ish sky when I went to bed turned into thick clouds by 1:30 AM, when I woke up and went outside. Oh well, at least I have seen other lunar eclipses...

  6. You're going to hate me for this, but I was exhasted from yet another day working in retail hell, so I fell asleep hoping that you would share pics. Do I know you or what?

  7. Thanks folks for the kind words...I'm on vacation right now so I can spend more time on the things that matter....the stuff that we would all love to do if we had the time. I could sleep in this morning.:) And yes, I think you have me figured out R.G. When it comes to events like this, how can a person resist? I'm just glad the clouds didn't cover us up in Tucson as they did threaten to spoil the fun. They covered the last part of the evening:( so I wasn't able to see the final phases...but the orange ball of fire yes:) That was cool and worth the 100 hundred pics or so:).

  8. Those are great shots!!! I did look up to admire the moon last night but it didn't look like that at all. It was round and white. The moon must have several faces. It probably depends on which side we looked at....or is it the same side? After all, it rotates...
