The Chuparosa Challenge-A Charm of Hummingbirds

Blue Throated Hummingbird-Miller Canyon

Over mountains, meadows, and canyons, here are the 12 hummingbirds I found in Southern Arizona.  I only missed one...the White Ear Hummingbird.  Next year:)  But for now enjoy the beauty of  these incredible little birds. I'm on break and have limited access to blogger but I wanted to answer the question presented yesterday by Kathy.  What do you call a group of hummingbirds?  Answer.  A Charm:)

  1. 'Charm' is perfect for these little jewels! Just like 'Murder' is perfect for a group of Crows!! At least that's what they're called downunder ...

  2. You have photographed so many nice hummingbirds.....i like the colors.

    Greetings, Joop

gorgeous pictures!! you have such a variety of these little hummers! i love the iridescence...and the picture with his tail spread...such beauty you've captured!!

  4. Oh, I love these little birds. Great shots Chris!

  5. Oh, yes, that's perfect! Thanks for telling us. I know I could have looked it up!

  6. And now, I am charmed... Wonderful collection you've got here Chris, enjoy your travels!

  7. Perfect name because hummers are charming.

  8. That is so neat, Chris. I never knew there were so many hummingbirds since we have only a few of them in our area. GORGEOUS....

Have a nice break. What are you doing to have fun these days?

Cold here this week... We've had a fire in the fireplace all week... LOVE it.

  9. So nice to see all those. Too bad they are not all around at the same time and same garden. Well, maybe they are - I remember Kartchner Caverns hummingbird garden one August.

  10. Beautiful collection of hummingbird. They are all gorgeous but the Costa's is my favorite. Great shots and I like the name "Charm" for a group of hummers.

  11. Dziękuję, że znowu mogłam się napatrzeć na te śliczne ptaszki. Pozdrawiam.
Thank you again, I could have a good look at these beautiful birds. Yours.

  12. Holy Cow!! I mean bird... These are amazing. I love the pink and yellow ones, and the little fat purple one that I have never ever seen before, even in a picture. You must have done a Happy Dance when you got these shots!

  13. That's a gorgeous collection of hummingbird photos. We still have a few here but they should be leaving soon. The only one I recognize is the ruby throated. Need to study this more.

  14. Wow, that is a beautiful collection of Hummingbirds. Thank you for the Google Chrome tip, I haven't been tempted to throw my computer across the room at all this week while blogging.

  15. Did you find as many as twelve varieties? Great! I'm charmed by each and every hummingbird. Now I added “a charm of hummingbird” to my vocabulary (as an English learner). Language is an interesting human invention. I haven’t seen even a single hummingbird in person, so I’d be on top of the world if I could see a charm of hummingbird.

  16. A super collection of photos of these lovely little birds. Here we call a group of goldfinches (such pretty birds!) a charm - so fascinating to learn a group of hummers has the same name :)

  17. A lot of beautiful hummingbirds!!!
    lovely post!

    Have a great day!

    xoxo, Juliana

  18. You are fortunate to be able to enjoy more than one species. We love our Rubies here, but it would be nice to see others.

Thanks for stopping by!
