Using my baseball cap to block the sun from eyes, I used my camera screen to make these shots and focus from my tripod. This special post tonight was taken at the Sweetwater Wetlands. It was just me at the park. Note in the pics, the very magical dragonfly. I had been hoping that they would show up. Beautiful evening.
Solar Eclipse 2012 in Tucson AZ |
Absolutely breathtaking, Chris!
ReplyDeleteMagical experience Chris - love the photos. Its always so special to witness an event like this.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! What a bonus to catch the dragonflies in its light.
ReplyDeleteWell done Chris, it was a very cool, eerie evening!
ReplyDeleteEerie it was.....Laurence, I am going to tell you something. I went early to bird but it was so so HOT!!! I brought a lot of water with me but it was terrible. AND THEN!!!!! As I am with attracting the Great Horned Owl, I also seem to be a snake charmer. I got the warbler shots I wanted but found myself surround by Kingsnakes!!! It was so gross. I am not a snake person at all so I didn't move and just stood paralyzed with the camera looking at these things. Cool, but yet a 3rd sighting within the past month. I was watching a bird act strangely and then it was too late:) They came out of the reeds and boy were they fast. Not poisoness thank goodness:) Have a great week. I am thinking that birding will not be happening at all during the day:)
Deletethose are cool, chris!
ReplyDeleteHi Chris, I am so jealous. Wish we could have seen the eclipse from here... Sigh!!!! BUT-I certainly have enjoyed seeing your pictures...AWESOME.... We don't get another chance for many years--2023 I think they said....

Nice shots. I took over 100 photos, with solar filter. Will post soon.
ReplyDeleteI CANNOT WAIT to see your results with a solar filter. I'm sure you got some incredible stuff. You lucky lucky person:)
DeleteAwesome, Chris. I read so much about camera sensor damage that I worried... Obviously you got some GREAT shots!
ReplyDeleteHello there stranger:) I wondered if camera damage had happened. My camera seems fine and I used it in short bursts instead of let sit out for a long time fixing on the sun. I was worried it would damage the sensor so I was quick with the shots. My baseball cap really came in hand as I searched for a branch to focus on...thank you for the kind words.
DeleteThat's amazing Chris. I am so behind in things, I didn't even know there was going to be an eclipse! I'm so glad Tracy's home now to keep me on track.
ReplyDeleteVery good shots Rohrerbot! Yes it is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWow, chris, your eclipse shots are awesome! I also took pictures of eclipse from my garden without using special screen or devices, though not colorful like yours.
