Sacred Night of Chance

Before the dawn, I wait.
Quiet.  Still.

Out there.
Under the night sky.
Watching us.
The invisible.
Shadows of our imagination.
Under the night sky.
Out there.

Listen.
Under the starry sky.
Whispering from crooked branch or vacant hole.
Midnight choir.
Their haunting melody.
Under the starry sky.
Listen.

Vulnerable.  Before the dawn. I stand.
Quiet still. Alone.

Into the darkness we go.

  2. Owls are great! I spent some time today looking for some at a roost - but failed! However, it was nice to be out in the sun!

  9. You are a poet as well as a photographer. Your photos of the owls are just wonderful, and I love the thoughtful poetry that accompanies them. And your blood moon! Wonderful! Mine is so much smaller! :-) Oh, and by the way, sorry you haven't had any luck with your hibiscus. So FAR mine is doing well. It over-wintered well, in a pot, and I just covered it a few times.
