Frozen Succulents

Here's a quick follow up to today's post on restarting your freeze damaged cacti garden. It's a cheaper solution than buying all new cacti. Hope this helps. I know I've saved hundreds of dollars by following these simple steps:)

  1. I think I know her!! I am seeing some of my Opuntia standing up now though many pads are gone, so maybe not a total loss? I'll have to re-watch her tips when I get more caught up.

  2. I think you do know her!!! Your opuntia should be coming back even though they suffered a huge loss...we have a lot of new growth at the base or around the tips of our prickly pear where the pads broke off. So that's a good thing....

  3. Great advice for succulent growers. I am glad to hear your optunia's are coming back. Just about every year a couple of mine actually wilt a bit and scare the heck out of me. Then when spring and summer comes they perk back up and get gorgeous.

  4. Oh my. So nice to see myself linked here! I miss the desert terribly and am glad to see that I'm still connected to you guys out west, even if only unknowingly so. My only complaint is that the frozen first frame of this segment is so unflattering! ;-) Tucson is ab-fab! Thanks for watching me, even though I'm no longer a desert rat! (I try to connect the show back to my desert knowledge whenever I can, but I bet you already noticed that.)

  5. Wow!! I don't even know what to say. You just made my day. I absolutely love the show and wish it would play on PBS in Tucson.....but I'm glad you guys put it on Youtube. It's one of the few garden shows that is actually helpful to gardeners in the Desert Southwest and the segments are extremely insightful. Saturday morning+Cup of coffee+And your show=Perfection. Thank you for making this fan's day. Have a great weekend!
